I've been writing Tap stories for a few years now - personally, I started writing when I couldn't find any Tap fanfiction to read! I've uploaded fiction at spinalfics on LiveJournal since 2007 - a quiet but friendly community which I'd recommend checking out. However, with recent negative events on LiveJournal, I've decided to leave the site and move to Dreamwidth exclusively. Browsing through the interests here, I was sad to discover that there was no Spinal Tap community of any sort, let alone a fanfiction one (which wasn't a surprise, considering how small the fandom is). So, just as I solved the the earlier lack of fanfiction by writing some, I decided to fill in the gap by creating a community (I also transferred over all of my fiction posts from the LiveJournal group, so all of the entries below this one were originally posted on LJ over the last three years).

Hooray! Can I join?

Of course - the more, the merrier! You can join by visiting the profile page. There is no age limit, and membership is unmoderated so you don't have to wait to be confirmed as a member. Any member can post to the community - and your post needn't be limited to fanfiction! Pictures or general discussions about the band, the film, the music, the cast, etc. are very welcome.

Are there any rules I have to keep to?

There are no rules as such - just a few posting guidelines on the profile page (which are fairly much common sense, anyway). The 'punishment' for not abiding to the guidelines is, er... a polite reminder from myself. So don't panic if you don't quite keep to them!

Well, this is all great, but I've still got more questions!

No problem! You can get in contact with myself through Dreamwidth - any messages will go to my email which I normally check everyday, so I should be quick to reply! In the meantime, I look forward to seeing the fandom grow!

Having only dipped my toes in the world of 100 word drabbles before now, I've decided to jump in (and I find it harder to do than writing longer stories, if I'm honest). I've written five 100 word drabbles, all inspired by quotes I've found while browsing the 'random' section of www.quotationspage.com. Most are slashy, a couple are a bit angsty, but none of them are rated higher than PG.

I've gone for a different focus and different style this time round, and strangely, I don't dislike Jeanine so much after writing it. How strange. Comments would be greatly appreciated on this one (even if they're critical) as I'm not used to writing in this style... Having said that, this is probably my favourite thing I've written (although I don't know how it comes off to other readers)!

Warnings: Strong language, adult content (although not graphic), slash
Author's Notes: In the extended edition of This Is Spinal Tap, it's mentioned that Nigel once slept with Jeanine. The thought of what was going through their heads at the time (besides the obvious, of course) inspired me, so this focuses on Nigel and Jeanine’s relationship, from 1977 to 2000. Most of the dates and locations were taken from SpinalTapFan.com's A to Z, without which this would have been very confusing to write indeed - I've tried to keep it as 'canon' as possible.
Summary: They’re very similar, David tells her, Nigel and Jeanine; long lost spiritual acquaintances even, and that of course they’ll both recognise the connection instantly. The reality is somewhat different.

Back with a short one. I'm not sure how it happened, I just sat down and browsed through my journal in boredom, got inspired and then this was on my screen. Feedback welcome as always.

Summary: Wembley had been rebuilt since the last time they were there. Sod it, everything had been rebuilt since last time.

Back in September I made myself a challenge to get a bit more inspired to write stuff - you know those lists of word prompts that a lot of writers on LJ have? Well, I made my own one by going through a dictionary and picking a random word for each letter and 6 months after starting the first one (and then encountering uni work, life, writing blocks, other plot-bunnies (which are coming, slowly), and just generally other things to get distracted with), here's the first result: inspired by L for Leprechaun.
